First of all, for those 1-star reviews, this product was not meant for superchargers. Superchargers communicate with the Tesla cars and bill the owner of the car using its VIN for the electricity used. Clearly this adaptor can't make this happen on a supercharger.
I bought this so I can use my existing Tesla charger with my Ford Mustang Mach E as well. I plugged it in and it started charging at a rate of 6 kW. And this is where I am a bit disappointed because my charger is capable of providing 12 kW. I am not sure what the reason for lower rate. I have seen Mach E pull 7 kW on public chargers so I suspect it is not the car not demanding more power.
Regardless, this is still a good purchase for the price. I'll update the review if I find out what the issue is with 6 kW limit (~ 240V 25A) I am experiencing.
Edit: Not sure why I was seeing 6 kW in earlier charging. Now I get ~10 kW. Yes, the locking of the adapter to the tesla connector is not great but I think if that is not a concern (no public charging or children around to mess with it), this is a great value. Updating to 5 stars!

Bought this for my Lexus NX450h+ to charge it with my Tesla 240 L2 charger at home. Good investment

I purchased the EVDANCE Mini Tesla to J1772 adapter so that we'd have more options when charging on our road trips. The first Tesla Destination charger I tried it in would not work, so I tried a different one at a local hotel, and it worked perfectly. My understanding is that this won't work if the charger is set up for Tesla only.
It seems to be high quality materials and everything fits tightly. The one issue is that the Tesla side does not lock securely. It won't slide in without depressing the blue button, but it slides out without pressing the button, though not easily. I also wish that the buttons could be locked. For the money though, I am pleased with this purchase.

The build quality is really good. I love the compact size. The listing states it uses solid conductors but I can't verify that.It feels hefty and snaps into the charge port and Tesla charger with a nice positive click. The blue release on the bottom is to release from the Tesla connector and the black release on top is for the release from the charge port.Now the bad news: It didn't work on my non-Tesla car. I've tried multiple attempts and the car just doesn't communicate with the charger. The car is a new Fisker Ocean and it just won't take it. It will take an old BMW charger no problem. So it's something with the adapter.EVDDANCE contacted me regarding the adapter and why it wasn't working with the Fisker Ocean. Because we couldn't figure out why this model didn't work they sent me a different model of connector to try. I used it with a Tesla mobile charger and a Tesla Wall Charger. It still didn't work with the mobile charger be the wall charger worked after a firmware update. It became apparent that the communication was limited by the software in the car and the charger. I can't blame the adapter as it is a passive part of the process. I stand by my original review of the high quality build of the adapter. For your use, verify that the car and charger will communicate.Thanks EVDANCE for the support.

I have a Tesla Wall Connector gen 2 and a Bolt EUV, and this adapter is perfect for adapting the Tesla charger to the Bolt's SAE J1772 receptacle. It doesn't get warm even after a 7-hour full charge, and is very compact. In fact, I bought a second so I could leave one on the charger and keep the other in the car. Also, the latch on the tesla charger side retains the tesla charger well - no issues with being able to pull out the tesla plug without pressing the release. Believe me, I tried!
All said, I would absolutely recommend this adapter.
