Nowadays Most battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) available today can accept between 40 to 48 amps while charging from a level 2, 240-volt source.
[High-Speed Level 2 EV Charger] The Level 2, 240-volt electric vehicle (EV) charging station, up to 40 Amps (9.6kW Max), gets 28-30 miles of driving range per hour of charge. This means that you're charging up to 7 times faster with a Level 2 charging station compared to a Level 1 (120 Volt) regular outlet charger.
Most Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) can accept 16-32 amps, while most electric vehicles can accept 32 - 48+ amps. All else equal, the more amperage flowing into the vehicle, the faster the charge time. However, we do not recommend installing a charger with more amps than your vehicle can accept.
If you add a new 40 amp circuit will get you 30 miles per hour of charging. A 50 amp circuit, 37.5 miles per hour of charging. A 60 amp circuit will get you 43 mile per hour of charging.

My wife and I both own EVs and I'm in the process of setting up a charging station at my office and at her office. We've got a good set up at home but the other part of the equation is having a rugged and dependable portable charger to keep in the trunk for unexpected situations. EVDANCE might not be a 'household name' to general consumers but they're well known in the EV marketplace for making solid products and selling them at a reasonable price point. This charger might not offer much in the way of innovative features but it does everything you need it to and then some. It charges very quickly for a portable and has all over the protections you should expect including short circuit protection, overheat protection, over voltage protection, etc. Unlike many portable devices it has a very clear and functional LED screen as well as intelligent charging. IMO, you're probably better served getting something more powerful for a home charger but this is a very capable portable EV charger at a very solid value price point. Highly recommended!

I've gotten several of these units to test them out, so far they all stand up to the outdoor elements, and charges with no issues. I will report back if anything changes but so far so good. Checking the retail market on the pricing Amazon has the best pricing by far on these units. If anything changes i will let you know.

Picked up this charger as an alternative to the Tesla mobile charger. This charger comes hard wired with a NEMA 14-50 plug. We have the need to plug in a Ford Mach-E on occasion and it’s not easy to do switching between a Tesla and Ford charger. This charger can be used with the Tesla adapter and it plugs right into the Ford.
This package comes with everything you need to get started. It even comes with wall mounts to mount the charger and a mount to hold the handle. The charger also has a small display that tells you how many kWh the current charge has charged into the car as well as how long it has been charging. This is really nice since the Tesla mobile charger has no display whatsoever.
I think this is an excellent charger especially if you’re a household that has a Tesla and a second car of a different brand.

The Level 2 EV Charger by EVDANCE, is well-made, high performing charger, with all the capabilities you should need to keep your EV ready to go. Let’s take a closer look at what may or may not make this a good choice for your situation.
I. Quality – The charger looks and feels like a well-made charger, with thick cables and a strong build. I was really surprised at how nice of quality this one offers. I’ve seen a ton of EV chargers and this one caught my attention, providing a lot of value currently. It also comes with one of the nicest travel bags I’ve seen included with an EV charger. I’d put the overall quality in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for at home EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time.
II. Performance – This one has worked great in many ways, with power up to 40A that is adjustable to what you need. The screen is nice to have, providing helpful information, such as time, current, voltage, power used and temperature. It has 10 safety features, timer and adjustable current. The 28-foot cable is one of the longest cables available and great to have if you can’t park next to the charger.
Overall, this is a fantastic option that offers a high charging ability, with notable quality, convenience and all the basic features needed. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.
