As the electric vehicle (EV) market becomes more crowded with new entries each quarter, a familiar trend continues—Tesla remains the dominant force. Despite a slight decline in Model Y sales, Tesla’s stronghold is clear, while compact electric crossovers from mainstream automakers like Hyundai and Volkswagen are capturing increased consumer interest.

Drawing on first-quarter data from 2025, we compiled a list of the top 10 bestselling EVs so far this year. A few notes: some automakers, like Rivian, don't separate sales figures for each model, making exact rankings difficult. Estimates from Automotive News were used to position Tesla’s lineup.
