A few years ago, EV financing and lease options were limited due to the small number of models available. Today, dozens of EVs and plug-in hybrids are offered by many automakers, a shift that was supported by the federal $7,500 EV tax credit.
That incentive expired at the end of September, prompting automakers to introduce their own discounts. These incentives now vary widely by brand, with some maintaining previous lease terms and others offering larger reductions. Local dealerships may also provide clearance or dealer-specific deals not listed online.
This month, we’ve compiled a complete list of incentives for all new EV and PHEV models, including every participating automaker with source links in each section. Keep in mind that offers vary by region—most pricing is based on a California ZIP code—so contacting multiple local dealers is recommended for the most accurate quotes.
Best New EV Deals In January 2026
Despite the loss of the federal credit, lease offers have not deteriorated significantly so far. In the short term, most automakers have avoided sharply increasing lease costs.
Could prices rise later in 2026? Possibly. Still, it’s reasonable to assume that financial institutions absorbed much of the former tax credit, given their control over money factors, residual values, and lease structures. It’s also unlikely consumers would immediately accept paying $7,500 more for the same lease they could secure just months ago.
For now, strong deals remain available. Automakers such as Lucid, BMW, and Honda are offering notable cash incentives, helping keep lease pricing competitive.
As always, all lease offers are subject to dealer participation, taxes, documentation fees, disposition charges, and potential wear-and-tear costs.
